Clean Energy Columbus: Commit Columbus to 100% clean and renewable energy

I support the transition to 100% clean and renewable energy in Columbus. To protect our health, reduce the cost of energy and reduce emissions, I call upon Mayor Henderson and the Columbus Council to commit to 100% Clean and Renewable Energy by 2035 and to put Muscogee County on track toward a safer and healthier future.

We believe the benefits of a clean energy commitment include:

• A healthier community that produces and breathes in fewer harmful pollutants, which at current levels negatively affect the health and well-being of our residents.
• A more prosperous community that benefits from lower utility bills and family-sustaining clean energy-related jobs, particularly for low- and middle-income residents who bear the highest energy burdens.
• A more resilient community capable of responding to severe weather events and other grid disruptions thanks to localized energy production from renewable sources.
